Kapa Designer Mia Teine Displays Talent on Maui

Kapa designer Mia Teine is originally from Hilo on Hawai'i, but now lives in Makawao on Maui.

Mia usually displays and sells from the hotels and resorts on Maui, but happened to be in Kula at the Farmers' Market this day in April.

Her handmade cloths are derived from Mulberry tree pods and she's been at it for more than a dozen years. Mia says the process takes about a month.

Beautiful work! Be sure to view related posts especially if you are not familiar with luxurious kapa and look for Mia if you're touring the local arts.
